Clinical Diagnostics
Clinical diagnostics is a broad field dedicated to analyzing and identifying biomarkers to support the diagnosis, prognosis, or treatment of patients in the medical setting. Clinical diagnostics employ radically different techniques depending on the suspected disease – for example, genetic and immunohistochemical investigations are used for solid tumors and hematological malignancies, while red blood cell counts can diagnose anemia.
From urine cultures to blood counts, clinical diagnostics encompasses the complete spectrum of medical analyses. It is typically conducted on-site in a hospital or regional diagnostic laboratory.
